Blind Measurement Tips
General Measuring TipsPLEASE use a metal measuring tape. (Cloth tapes tend to stretch). Before you measure:
Look at your window and decide whether you want to mount the blind inside the window recess or outside the window on the wall or architrave. We recommend an inside mount whenever possible for a neater look. However, an outside mount can make a window appear larger or hide an unattractive window frame. See the Sill Depth Chart below for the minimum sill depth needed for installation and the minimum needed for the product to be flush with the front of the frame.Note: Always round down to the nearest 5mm and make no allowances - the factory will do that for you! Indicate that your measurements have no allowances. Always indicate the WIDTH measurement first, then the HEIGHT last. (W x H). Mount TypesInside Mount![]() Measuring diagram Step 2. Repeat this procedure at the top (1), middle (2) and bottom (3) of the inside frame, noting the narrowest width to indicate Width. ![]() Inside Mount If you prefer the blind not to touch the sill, deduct 10mm. If there is no sill, measure the length to the point where the blind is to reach. Don't be surprised if your window is not perfectly square - most aren't. Step 4. On your notes, clearly indicate which measurement is the width and which is the height. It is very common to mix up measurements. Please indicate if allowances or deductions have been made. Try to always measure the width first, then height. Outside/Face Mount![]() Outside/Face Mount For outside mounts, specify the exact width and exact height you want the product to be.
